Chair of Urological Health
Expert Title in Advanced Theoretical Foundations in Medical-Surgical Andrology, Reconstructive and Urethro-Genital Prosthetic Surgery
Introduction
Currently, andrology and sexual medicine account for more than 25% of general urological pathology. If we add to this the significance of reconstructive urogenital urology, we are talking about almost 35% of urological care.
Several significant factors are at play in our country: on the one hand, there is a separation between areas of knowledge (medical andrology versus surgical genital andrology); on the other hand, urologists receive biased training due to a lack of basic psychosexual knowledge and the scarcity of multidisciplinary teams; and finally, urologists do not receive training in urethral reconstructive surgery within the knowledge area programme.
The purpose of this degree is to train students in the field of medical-surgical andrology and urethral-genital reconstructive and prosthetic surgery, under the guidance of professionals with extensive experience. It also aims to provide a comprehensive theoretical and practical update for subsequent application in daily clinical practice.
